1870 Pattern Dime. Judd-856, Pollock-936. Rarity-7. Proof-66 (NGC). CAC. Tied with one other for the very finest seen of this issue, and that from a limited population of 9 certified pieces in all. The strike is bold throughout and the toning is an exceptional blend of blue, crimson and fiery orange. The obverse is a bust of Liberty facing right wearing a cap with three stars, ribbon draped down her shoulder with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above and IN GOD WE TRUST on a thin banner below. The reverse has an open wreath of laurel and oak with 10 CENTS within, STANDARD SILVER above and date below. Struck in silver with a plain edge.
