Lot Description

147.6 grains. Another very pleasing example of this die marriage, struck from an exceptionally late and interesting state of the dies. Smooth and attractive light brown with contrasting dark olive around devices. Denticles are prominent atop the obverse and below the reverse. Exceptionally choice, really immaculate for a coin of this grade, with not a single notable mark on either side. An apparent lint mark is seen at the base of N of MIND. This is the Newman plate coin for the latest die state, Newman Obverse State D and Reverse State E. The U of YOUR is completely broken away on the obverse, while the lower reverse is swollen and buckled amidst significant die cracks that focus at the rim at 7 o'clock. The swelling is particularly notable within the ring just left of 6 o'clock. This is a really nice coin by any standard, but will undoubtedly be of greatest interest to die state aware specialists.
