- Lot Description
- The Minute Hall Collection. For type purposes, the 1840-C holds a distinguished place in the hearts of collectors as the first year for which the mintmark had been moved from the obverse to the reverse. Mustard-gold hue dominates the character and offers slightly shimmering aesthetics as viewed under a bright lamp. A single, brief scrape erupts in front of the throat and appears to be absolutely the only blemish that bars the coin from perfection (for VF-25). Outstanding collector quality.
