1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed Rays. Newman 8-B, W-6740. Rarity-2. UNITED STATES, 4 Cinquefoils. MS-61 BN (PCGS). Medium brown surfaces with accents of sea-green and orangey-tan. Displays a delicate, frosty mint texture and no trace of wear. Received a typical strike for the variety, bold at the sun face, sun dial, FUGIO, and 1787 date while weak at the lower left obverse and opposing reverse. Struck on a high quality planchet that shows no significant flaws or post-strike damage. Appealing as a Mint State example of this historic early federal coinage. PCGS# 889. NGC ID: 2B8F.
