1839/6 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-1. Rarity-3. Plain Cords. Fine-12 (PCGS). Smooth chocolate-brown surfaces with a bit of deeper woodgrain tone on the obverse. Exceptionally attractive for the grade with only minor marks and no hint of roughness. Rare quality for this popular and scarce overdate which also represents a distinct head type for the 1839 date.
