1841 Liberty Seated Half Dime. MS-66 (NGC). CAC. Rich original surfaces are awash in a blend of golden-olive, salmon-pink and cobalt blue toning. Direct lighting not only calls forth iridescent undertones, but also allows ready appreciation of satiny mint luster. Fully struck with razor sharp detail from the rims to the centers. From a mintage of 1,150,000 coins, survivors are plentiful by early Liberty Seated half dime standards, yet conditionally rare in the finest Mint State grades, as here.
