Lot Description
One of a very few true overdates in the entire 20th century catalog of U.S. coins, the 18/7-S quarter is a very rare date and among the rarest dates in ANY Mint State grade! A beautiful rosy hue caresses the satiny lustrous surfaces on both sides. A vibrant mint bloom brings the delicate pastel toning to life. While not fully struck up, the details are only weak on Liberty's head and on a few of the brads on the shield. Wonderfully eye appealing of an example of this date that will delight even the most persnickety collector. PCGS 26, NGC 7, CAC 2. No CAC-approved example in MS63 has ever sold in auction! The last PCGS MS63 sold in auction in the 2017 FUN Auction for $23,500 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $26,500. Very RARE any finer and this coin will delight any advanced Standing Liberty quarter collector. We do expect strong bidding! Cert. Number 34934681 PCGS # 5726
