1859-O Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. OC-1. Rarity-1. AU-58 (PCGS). Glints of reddish-gold peripheral iridescence on the obverse interrupt an otherwise brilliant-white appearance. Not likely a coin that saw actual commercial use, but rather a more heavily abraded example from the Treasury Department releases of the early to mid 1960s, which find has made the 1859-O one of the most popular type issues in the challenging Liberty Seated dollar series.
