- 1839 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-4. Rarity-1. Silly Head. MS-63 BN (PCGS). CAC.
An attractive Mint State example marbled in milk chocolate and coffee-brown coloration throughout. Overall smooth with just a few pinscratches on the obverse, most notably at star 10. The central elements are crisp despite a late die state matching Noyes Die State C/C. The denticles are weakened or absent around much of the circumference and moderate flowlines occupy the peripheries.
