1823 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-101. Rarity-3. Broken 3. VF-35 (PCGS). A popular <em>Guide Book </em>variety of the 1823 Bust Half Dollar, O-101 features a poorly formed digit 3 in the date with the upper and lower half nearly detached from one another. A richly original survivor, this Choice VF exhibits deep lavender-charcoal patina with lighter silvery tinting to the highpoints. Ample detail remains, and there is hardly an abrasion in evidence.
