Lot Description
1883 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-66 (PCGS). CAC. This breathtakingly beautiful premium Gem is richly toned in dominant steel-olive and antique copper patina. The toning is iridescent in quality, allowing ready appreciation of not only vivid reddish-gold and champagne-pink undertones, but also a well mirrored finish in the fields. Sharply to fully struck overall with eye appeal to spare. The Philadelphia Mint produced 1,039 Proof silver dollars in 1883, the typical survivor encountered in today's market grading no finer than Proof-64. Upper end Gems such as this are scarce and always in demand, especially with such undeniable originality and strong eye appeal. PCGS Population: 16; 8 finer in this category (Proof-68 finest). PCGS# 7318. NGC ID: 27Z7. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
