Lot Description
Ex Link, as noted on the insert. A classic, Condition Census O-106 from the famous Link Collection of Capped Bust half dollars. This borderline GEM is very high end with superior surfaces that are satiny smooth and super clean. We seen no hidden lines or marks, even with the aid of a strong glass. Years ago, before certification, a coin like would have easily been sold as a full GEM MS65. There is a light luster and both sides are adorned by an original pale golden brown, light russet, and deep champagne color. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck, although there is some minor weakness on the tip of the eagle’s wing. The eye appeal is fantastic! PCGS 13,NGC 13, CAC 5. The most recent CAC approved examples were graded by NGC and sold in the $20,000-$23,000 range and none have sold in over six years. The current PCGS Price Guide value is weighed down by non-CAC examples. The current CAC CPG value is listed at $18,000. This coin last sold in our Regency Auction IX in October 2014. Bid accordingly! Cert. Number 28524882 PCGS # 39395
