Tied for FINEST 1843 dime graded! Exceptionally well preserved and totally original, both obverse and reverse are draped in a rich dove/pewter/teal/pale blue/ rose patina that was likely imparted by very long term storage in an old collector's envelope. A full satin frost can be seen from under the toning accenting the colors and sharp strike. Under intense scrutiny with a very powerful loupe, we see nothing but the tiniest of minor marks. The eye appeal is very special! PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 3. The Gardner coin, sold for $8,225 in June 2016 and a different example sold for $6,168 in December 2015.
