1897-S Liberty Head Eagle. AU-58 (PCGS). CAC. Sharply struck and near-fully lustrous with wonderfully original surfaces displaying warm honey-rose color. Thanks to the discovery of a few more coins in foreign bank hoards, the 1897-S is not as scarce as the 1896-S. Even so, this is one of the more conditionally challenging eagles from the 1890s with most examples in circulated grades.
