Lot 430 1855 N-7 R1 Upright 55 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved.Frosty light to medium brown and steel with peeps of mint red remaining visible on the reverse. Sharply struck and quite attractive with mint state eye appeal, but there is a hint of friction on the very highest points of the portrait. A puff of reddish brown toning at star 5 is the only notable mark. EDS (but not quite the earliest), die state b, with a very faint die crack through the top of UNI. Our grade is AU58.The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
