Lot Description

1885 Seated Liberty Half Dollar. WB-101. MS-63 (PCGS). Another rare date with a tiny mintage of 5,200 pieces for circulation. The present coin has deep russet-gray toning at the rims, which enlivens to blue and gold when examined under a light, with the centers brighter silver and frosty. Classic satiny texture and clearly not a proof coin. Boldly struck by the dies, and the surfaces are free of all but minute signs of handling.
