Lot Description

The 1828 B-3 variety is readily attributable by the 25/50 C. blundered reverse, this die leftover from the 1822 B-2 pairing. Most of our offerings for this scarce die pairing in recent years have been for typical well worn survivors in grades such as Good and VG. This overall bold mid-grade example is a noteworthy departure that will catch the eye of astute early quarter specialists. Otherwise pearl gray surfaces with blushes of vivid peripheral toning at lower left obverse and upper left reverse.
