- Lot Description
- Rich, deep watery mirrors contrast nicely against the highly frosted reliefs. A light iridescent toning can be seen in the fields attesting to the originality, and it seemingly floats on the watery surfaces like oil on a puddle. A close look with a glass we do see a wispy line or two here and there, nothing distracting. Only 735 were struck. PCGS 10, NGC 13. The last one to sell in auction (per PCGS CoinFacts) was in September 2015 for $2,938 (this record does not appear in our auction price database, and may well represent a buy back, and besides, this coin is much nicer). Before that, the last one sold in January 2008! That was over 9 years ago! The current PCGS value is $4,900. Well suited for a GEM PR type set or set of Barber halves. Cert. Number 32247458 PCGS # 86545
