Lot Description

1824 Matron Head Cent. N-3. Rarity-2. AU-53 (PCGS). An evenly worn but overall sharp example of the N-3 variety, displaying a mix of mahogany and olive-brown coloration throughout. The surfaces are pleasantly unmarked beneath a glass, showing just some heavier patina on the reverse that goes otherwise unnoticed. A trace of friction shows on the high points of the reverse, though clouds of golden-tan luster remain in the protected areas. Struck from slightly worn dies in Noyes Die State B/B.
