Ex Stokely Collection. A marvelous GEM Cameo Proof half dollar from this first year of issue of the with Motto type. Deep, watery mirrored fields flash with a vivacity. Both sides have a rich blue and amber-peach patina that surround brilliant silver centers. Sharply struck devices are frosted and stand out with a great contrast between the devices and fields. The surfaces are devoid of any serious lines or marks of any kind that would detract from the exceptional eye appeal. Only 725 Proofs were struck. PCGS 3, NGC 3. No PR65 CAMs have sold in nearly six years, the last one selling for $5,581 in the 2014 ANA auction. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,500.
