1872 Gold Dollar. MS-65 DPL (NGC). An orange-gold Gem with frosty devices and reflective fields that form a deep cameo contrast. The present beauty is the finest DPL example of the date certified by NGC and rightfully so. Its in-hand quality is superb, and magnified scrutiny does nothing to alter that impression. One of just 3,500 examples struck for intended circulation; the present specimen was no doubt one of the early impressions of the dies. Choice for the grade.
