Lot Description
THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION NOTABLE RARITY. Tied for SECOND FINEST graded! Highly lustrous surfaces are awash in a patina of intermingled soft amber and golden hues. Above average strike with just a hint of weakness in the feathers of the arrows and the claws. A profuse amount of mint frost accents not only the design elements but the fields as well. Although a more common variety in circulated grades, the coin is an EXTREME RARITY in GEM WB-102. An early die state whereby the doubling of the upright and flag of the first 5 and the crossbar of the 4 are visible. Die clash is present within the drapery under Liberty’s elbow. PCGS 2, NGC 4. Only on coin grades higher, an NGC MS-66. PCGS Price Guide is $14,500. This coin last sold in October 2014 for $12,388. It’s been seven long years since this coin has seen the light of day. Expect competitive bidding to ensue to this classic rarity! This piece belongs in a high grade collection! Cert. Number 3319194-007 PCGS # 6282.00
