1870 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-939, Pollock-1052. Rarity-5. Proof-62 Cameo (PCGS). Standard silver design with a right-facing bust of Liberty on the obverse. Liberty is wearing a soft cap ornamented with two stars, and a ribbon crosses her shoulder with the word&nbsp;LIBERTY inscribed in incuse letters. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the border and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed on a scroll below. The tip of the cap is under the center of the second letter S in STATES. On the reverse, a wreath of cotton and corn partially encloses the denomination 50 CENTS and the date 1870. The word STANDARD is above. Struck in silver with a reeded edge.<br /> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A mostly untoned example with a sharp strike and good field-to-device contrast.
