Lot Description

1813 Capped Head Left Half Eagle. BD-1. Rarity-2. MS-63+ (NGC). Satiny yellow gold surfaces are lustrous, especially in the protected areas, and alive with pleasing olive highlights. The strike is sharp and the surfaces hold up admirably to magnified scrutiny, revealing no marks of a serious nature, and with no individual mark that deserve our written attention. One of the few dates of the design type, 1813-1834, that can be found with any regularity in Mint State. Choice for the grade as attested to by the NGC + designation.
