Spectacular Top Pop Gettysburg Commemorative 1936 Gettysburg Anniversary. MS-68 (PCGS). This outstanding example is dusted with sandy-silver iridescence over full, intense frosty mint luster. Authorized by the Act of June 16, 1936 to commemorative the 75th anniversary of the Civil War battle of Gettysburg, the mintage for this type was 50,028 pieces, including 28 examples reserved for assay. Only 26,900 coins were distributed, however, the remaining 23,100 examples melted.
