Every Barber half-dollar issue becomes elusive at the gem level no matter its mintage, and this is a particularly stunning example, replete with intensely frosted luster and nearly amazing electric-blue and olive-grey patina on the obverse. Vivid ocean-blue threads through portions of the reverse, where some magenta-rose tones also compete. A terrific strike completes the high-quality portrayal, and the only distraction your favorite cataloger could find includes some tiny marks and a few feathery hairlines at the lower neck area.
