A lustrous and predominantly brilliant example of this coveted issue with halos of reddish-gold iridescence at the borders. The complexion is faintly prooflike, with a frosty texture to the fields and more satiny luster across the devices. Nicely struck for the issue and free from all but the most trivial marks. One of only 1,723,000 coins struck, most of which were subject to heavy circulation - an unusual scenario for a silver dollar issue of this design type.
