- Noteworthy condition rarity to represent this key date Denver Mint Peace dollar issue. Dusted with soft golden-apricot iridescence and billowy mint luster, the surfaces are smooth and inviting throughout. Sharply struck, as befits the issue, and sure to please even the most discerning collector. Just 1,268,900 coins were struck of this date and mint, down substantially from the 2.3 million pieces reported for the 1926-D; the 1927-D is the scarcest Peace dollar from the Colorado facility. Even so, this issue is readily available in all grades up through MS-64, but premium Gem examples like the present piece are truly rare.
