Lot Description

1840-O Seated Liberty Quarter. Drapery. Briggs 2-C. MS-61 (NGC). Even though several high grade examples were also included in the 1982 New Orleans Hoard, the 1840-O Drapery remains scarcer than its identically dated No Drapery counterpart in Mint State. This satiny, silver-gray BU reveals no singularly distracting abrasions. Very sharp in strike by the standards of the issuing Mint, and a candidate for a higher grade were it not for overall muting to the surfaces.
