Lot Description

We love this coin! This is an old friend from the Dr. Stephen Davidson Collection, December 2021, lot 119, where we described it as: "This is a great looking, wholly original GEM example of this Antebellum Proof Seated Liberty half dollar. Flashy, watery textured reflective mirrored fields are evenly and attractively toned in pastel peach-rose in the centers and soft lilac-blue at the peripheries. Sharply struck and the eye appeal is especially bold." Only 800 Proofs were struck. PCGS 9, NGC 20, CAC 3. This is the most recent PCGS/CAC example to sell, realizing $4,113 in December 2021. The current CAC CPG value is $4,880 and the PCGS Price Guide is $5,750. VERY RARE any finer, PCGS has graded just four higher in the non-CAM designation. Good luck. Cert. Number 30358632 PCGS # 6413
