Lot Description

This gorgeously toned 08-O dime is tied for second FINEST graded by PCGS and it is hard to image a more beautiful example in any grade. Glowing satin mint luster blooms vivaciously on both sides, greatly enlivening the multicolored toning, especially on the obverse. Shades of blue, emerald, gold, orange, and magenta really come out in the light. The surfaces are smooth and very high end, giving this PQ coin a very high end look. This cataloger can honestly say it is one of the great Barber dimes in this sale. PCGS 14, NGC 12, CAC 8. There are four in MS66+ and just five finer (all MS67). This is not the one we sold in February 2016 for $2,174; this coin's eye appeal is so much better. Indeed we think it will bring a price well in excess of the current PCGS Price Guide value of $2,400. The last MS67 sold in our May 2019 Regency Auction for $5,758 and this colorful SUPERB GEM has a better look. Cert. Number 38158133 PCGS # 004848
