1869 Pattern Five-Cent Piece. Judd-684, Pollock-763. Rarity-5. Nickel. Plain Edge. Proof-65 Cameo (PCGS). Secure Holder. Obv: similar to the circulating nickel three-cent pieces of the era but on a larger scale and with a star on Liberty's tiara. Rev: laurel wreath, IN GOD WE TRUST on a ribbon above, German cross at top, Roman numeral V within. The steel gray surfaces are reflective in the fields and frosty on the motifs. A lustrous specimen with just a hint of champagne-gold iridescence.&nbsp;<strong><em>Tied for finest of the variety certified by PCGS within any Proof designation.</em></strong>
