A popular Civil War date double eagle. Lightly worn with traces of original luster remaining, this is a generally appealing example with bold definition. While the surfaces show wear and contact, we don't consider the surfaces to be hacked up and the eye appeal is decent. PCGS 85, NGC 267. The most recent NGC-graded example sold in August 2021 for $2,880. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $5,000. A coin that will see decent bidding action as it crosses the block. Cert.
