Lot Description

Presenting as smooth in hand, and with warm medium golden-brown color overall, this is a handsome mid-grade example of this Ryder number. The planchet measures approximately 28.0 mm, conforming to the standard or "regular" (per Tony Carlotto) diameter for this variety. The strike is well centered on the obverse, reverse just a bit tight to upper left, all design elements on both sides bold and fully appreciable. Close inspection with a loupe reveals just a hint of natural planchet roughness, reverse only with some wispy handling marks, but there are no sizeable or otherwise singularly distracting blemishes. An overall well made and gently, if moderately circulated example that will nicely represent the 1788 Bust Right Vermont in a circulated type set.
