Key 1795 Talbot, Allum & Lee / York Cathedral Muling Finest Certified by PCGS 1795 Talbot, Allum & Lee Cent / York Cathedral Mule. Fuld Mule-7A, W-8370. Lettered Edge: FEAR GOD AND HONOUR THE KING. MS-66 BN (PCGS). Both sides of this lovely premium quality Gem exhibit a silky smooth satin texture with modest semi-reflectivity in the fields. Slight marbling of olive-brown iridescence interrupts otherwise dominant golden-copper patina, and faint remnants of faded mint color are still evident in a few of the protected areas within the central design elements. Fully defined from a well centered and sharply executed strike. The York Cathedral type is the rarest of the basic design types of Talbot, Allum & Lee mulings, represented here by a Gem that stands alone at the top of the PCGS Population Reportfor the type. An outstanding piece that would serve as a highlight in a specialized cabinet. Provenance: From the Bill Gleckler Collection. PCGS Population: 1; 0 finer in this category. There are no RD examples certified at PCGS, and no RB examples graded higher than MS-64 RB at this service. PCGS# 513055. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
