- Lot Description
- A visually stunning piece with heavily frosted motifs and richly mirrored fields; the devices glow with bold golden hues and the fields exhibit royal-blue and rose. As pretty as you are apt to find for a proof of the date, and among the finest survivors from the mintage. Proof mintage: 725 pieces.<p>The formation of a date run of proof Liberty Seated Dimes is a pleasant and challenging exercise. The new type with lettering on the obverse began in 1860 and ended in 1891, punctuated by the varieties of 1873 and 1874 with arrows at the date. In today's market these are very affordable, even more so than they were at the height of market activity back in 1989.
