Lot Description
1901-S Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-65+ (PCGS). A truly remarkable example of this scarcer entry in the San Francisco Mint Morgan dollar series. Sharply struck, as befits the issue, the detail on both sides is virtually full. The luster is strong with subtle reflective complexion through an overlay of delicate golden-silver iridescence. Silky smooth in appearance and sure to please even the most discerning numismatist. Elusive in all grades (probably due to widespread melting of undistributed examples), the 1901-S is also a conditionally challenging issue that can be very difficult to locate any finer than MS-64. This low pop MS-65+, then, is a significant bidding opportunity for the advanced collector specializing in this perennially popular silver dollar series. PCGS# 7276. NGC ID: 256L.
