Lot Description

144.9 grains. Attractive and even light brown with good centering and strong visual appeal. Well detailed on both sides, with a bit of encrustation in the legends providing some additional contrast. Free from corrosion or significant marks, though we do note some hairlines whose consequence is largely confined to the lower right obverse. SHI Die State 2, with a break descending from EA to the plow, a typical state. While this variety is just scarce, specimens finer than this one are legitimately rare. We've sold only four examples of this die marriage graded finer by PCGS, and the Condition Census for this variety includes a single Unc, two AUs, and four EFs.
