- A mere 910 or so Proof Indian cents were struck for collectors in 1877, alongside a famously low mintage of 852,500 pieces for circulation. Given the key date status of the latter issue, the 1877 also enjoys heightened demand in Proof format. The Snow-PR3 attribution, readily identifiable by the presence of a tiny die dot on Liberty's neck, comprises only about 20% of extant Proofs of this date.
