Dusted with soft pinkish-rose iridescence on otherwise deep honey-orange surfaces, this is a lovely near-Gem to represent a brief and challenging circulating gold dollar design type. Clash marks in the open field areas are as made and common for the type, but the full striking detail in the centers is anything but for a design that is often encountered noticeably blunt in those areas. Smooth, billowy mint luster flows over both sides and rounds out an impressive list of physical attributes for this Type II gold dollar.
