This flashy example exhibits dominant softly frosted luster that thins to modest semi-reflective tendencies in the fields. Both sides are further adorned with delicate iridescent champagne-pink toning that provides outstanding visual appeal. Generally bold detail is superior to that seen in the typical circulation strike nickel five-cent piece of this design type. While the 1884 (11,270,000 circulation strikes produced) is one of the more readily obtainable Liberty Head nickels from the 1880s in lower Mint State grades, premium Gems such as this are rare from a condition standpoint.
