- 1878 Trade Dollar. Proof-65 Cameo (NGC). A silver-tinged, virtually untoned Gem with pronounced cameo contrast to the finish. This is an expertly produced, carefully preserved specimen with much to recommend it to both type and date collectors. The 1878 Philadelphia Mint trade dollar has a mintage of 900 pieces, and it is desirable as the first Proof-only issue of the type. Provenance: From the Pacific Rim Collection.
