Lot Description

1766 Pitt Halfpenny Token. Betts-519, W-8350. Rarity-3. Copper. AU-55 (NGC). A second Choice AU example of this significant Colonial era type, both sides exhibit dominant deep brown patina to generally smooth surfaces. Glints of olive-gray tinting are scattered about, a touch of gloss to the texture further enhancing this piece's appeal. A tiny nick in the reverse field below the hull of the ship is noted, but neither the eye appeal nor the technical quality of this boldly defined example are affected in the slightest. PCGS# 236.
