Lot Description

1889 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-65 (NGC). This needle sharp Gem possesses an uncommonly full strike in an example of this often softly defined Proof Morgan dollar issue. Other praiseworthy attributes include brightly mirrored fields, splashes of golden-russet obverse toning and a halo of light orange-copper iridescence around the reverse periphery. For the latter side of the coin we also note strong enough contrast to support a Cameo designation, although the obverse is a bit closer to uniform mint brilliance. One of 811 Proofs of the date produced.
