1897 Liberty Half Eagle. Proof-62 Cameo (PCGS). A desirable example for the proof gold type collector, this late date Liberty five is sharply impressed with excellent field to device contrast. Evenly toned in an orange-gold shade, as well, with only light, wispy handling to define the grade. The overall eye appeal is as strong as we have seen in some Choice quality proofs of this classic U.S. gold type. Sure to please.
