Losbeschreibung: Top-Pop 1938-S Texas Commemorative Half 1938-S Texas Independence Centennial. MS-68 (PCGS). CAC. A stunning example with vivid, multicolored toning to both sides, the boldest shades at the lower right obverse and upper right reverse borders. Bathed in satin to softly frosted luster, this boldly impressed and expertly preserved Ultra Gem is sure to please. As with its identically dated Philadelphia and Denver mint counterparts, the 1938-S Texas has an original mintage for distribution of 5,000 coins. The net mintage after melting of unsold examples amounted to just 3,814 pieces, however, a limited total that confirms the 1938-S as one of the scarcest issues of its type. In PCGS MS-68, and with coveted CAC approval, the coin offered is tied for CC#1, and it is seemingly earmarked for inclusion in a high-ranked commemorative collection on the PCGS Set Registry.
