Lot Description

1744/3-W French Colonies Sou Marque. Lille Mint. Vlack-205b. Rarity-5. MS-64 (PCGS). 33.95 grains. Superb frosty luster spins around both sides, with silvery surfaces showing light golden toning and only a few hints of discoloration on either side of the obverse device. Unworn and well struck, with raised die lines visible in the fields and a nice bold overdate. The Ford collection specimen of this issue was graded Fine and Vlack's was only VF. This would be a beautiful type coin and likely is among the finest survivors of the date and mint as well.
