Lot Description

Breen Die State IV. Blended dark and medium brown patina to both sides, the surfaces microporous with light build up in the protected areas around Liberty's portrait and scattered about on the reverse. The latter side is weak in the center, although the denomination ONE CENT is legible, and all other devices are suitably bold for the grade. A scarce and conditionally challenged variety, the Bland census for Sheldon-177 published in the 2000 Breen large cent encyclopedia is comprised of coins with EAC grades of F15 to VF30.
