From a Proof mintage for the date that Rick Snow (2014) reports as 2,740 pieces comes this conditionally rare premium Gem. Delicate pinkish-brown iridescence engages surfaces that retain a remarkable amount of mint orange color for an issue that the author describes as "scarcer than most other dates in the 1890s" in full Red preservation. Snow further reports that "Most red-brown [sic] examples are in lower grades," confirming the fleering nature of this offering for astute collectors of Proof Indian cents.
