Lot Description

Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-107. A tiny tine off the shield's top right corner helps identify the reverse, while on the obverse, the first "1" in the date is too high and "81" is a bit closer than the surrounding letters. Finally, a noticeable lump atop the eagle's left (observed) wing reaffirms attribution and indicates a middle or later die-state. Much better than expected of just MS-62, both sides practically glow with silvery, lustrous sheen and the grade seems too low despite a delicate pinscratch just grazing the obverse right field. Beautifully detailed, especially on the obverse, and just a downright terrific example.
